The role
To support the Operational Risk Management (ORM) team in the implementation, development and embedding of:
Data Management 
Risk Reporting
- Through the effective development and administration of the aCCelerate system (ORM’s primary risk data repository) and other data repositories including any successor system.  This would include maintenance of risk data on the system(s), development and production of standard and ad hoc MI reporting including development of a bespoke MI solution, and, over time, further rollout of the system to other business teams in accordance with their business needs.
The role will also provide support to the ORM team in Liverpool for implementing the risk framework including attendance at risk workshops, event management and assurance map production.
This is an analyst level role for someone with Excel, PowerPoint skills and data management information reporting experience who is looking to develop their expertise in risk management.

Key responsibilities
Managing Risk Data (80%):

Acting as the system administrator for the aCCelerate system and other operational risk data repositories.
Managing data quality for the aCCelerate system and other operational risk data repositories.
Developing and implementing standard / cyclical and ad hoc reporting to provide risk MI and insight to inform Senior Management committees, in line with the Risk Management Framework
Develop the use of aCCelerate with other business teams in accordance with their business needs and drivers.
Aggregation and analysis of operational risk events reported by the business including   performing root cause analysis, monitoring and recommending improvements to action plans to remedy issues on a timely basis.
Ensure ongoing continuous improvement recommendations to improve risk reporting and analysis.
Administer staff education activity in particular on business users of aCCelerate.
 

    Operational Risk (20%):

Support development of the Operational Risk Framework.
Assist risk owners with the identification, assessment and documentation of risks and controls.
Assist with the development and performance of the pensions assurance map.
Assist with the maintenance of operational risk procedural documentation.
Support Operational Risk Manager and Senior Operational Risk Analyst to administer regular functional Risk Boards to ensure reporting and actions are documented and tailored at senior management and executive level.
Support and participate on ad hoc projects.

Your experience
Experience of managing data systems and MI reporting.
Strong knowledge of Excel and good PowerPoint skills
Knowledge of Power BI or similar tool would be beneficial but not essential.
Background of working in a financial services organisation, especially pension administration.
Risk management knowledge desirable but not essential.
Excellent communication skills are required, occasionally using significant levels of judgement to influence positive outcomes.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills required.
A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development is essential (e.g. a commitment to further study).
