The role
Responsible for production of the Annual Report & Accounts and oversight of USSIM and USSL statutory accounts and SPV statutory accounts.
Responsible for regular scheme reporting and identifying and developing improvements to the reporting process.
Responsible for maintaining an appropriate financial control environment including co-ordinating sign off on key controls and review of balance sheet reconciliations. 
Responsible for co-ordinating the external audit on an annual basis

Key responsibilities
Responsible for production of the Annual Report & Accounts and oversight of USSIM and USSL statutory accounts and SPV statutory accounts.
Work with the project manager to deliver the Annual Report & Accounts in a timely and efficient manner to required level of quality and detail including preparing a verification file as information is received
Oversee the production of the USSIM and USSL statutory accounts including understanding of key movements and balances and review of year end adjustments and journals.
Review SPV statutory accounts which are prepared by the SPV financial accountant in London to assist with the timetable and review and co-ordination with external audit. 

Responsible for regular scheme reporting and identifying and developing improvements to the reporting process.
Produce monthly scheme accounts and on a quarterly basis incorporate all relevant risk disclosures
Produce scheme reporting pack including commentary, high level analysis and supplementary schedules
Identify and develop improvements to the reporting process where manual journals could be replaced with system developments or enhancements

Responsible for maintaining an appropriate financial control environment including co-ordinating sign off on key controls and review of balance sheet reconciliations. 
Maintain financial control library including high level process maps, risk statements, key control documentation and procedure libraries ensuring an annual review and a process for governance of ongoing or ad-hoc changes
Co-ordinate sign off of key controls in the Accelerate system including training, development of processes and following up to obtain sign off and reporting on outputs
Co-ordinate and review balance sheet reconciliations on a regular basis ensuring issues are identified, tracked and resolved and reconciliations are of the appropriate quality

Responsible for co-ordinating the external audit on an annual basis
Agree annual timetable and kick off meetings with external auditors
Arrange for prepared by client list to be agreed with named individuals and agreed due dates
Hold regular meetings with external audit to resolve issues and ensure audit is completed on time

Your experience
Essential 
Hold a professional accounting qualification such as ACA or ACCA.
Educated to degree level.
Experience of preparing, reviewing and submitting statutory accounts
Knowledge and experience of financial systems, accounting processes and controls
Experience of audit and co-ordinating external audits
Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
Able to work in a manner that is consistent with the organisations ethos and values
Desirable 
Experience in pensions or investments industry
Knowledge and experience of project management tools and techniques
