The role
Operate and maintain purchase ledger
Become a subject matter expert for all contractor process questions
Enhance budgetary control and accountability through ongoing process improvements

Key responsibilities
Process invoices and journals to accounting system within deadlines
Processing various payment runs with high levels of accuracy
Dealing with supplier queries
Proactively manage purchase ledger inbox and liaise closely with non-finance colleagues
Maintain accurate accounting record, being proactive about resolving issues or queries
Processing sales invoices, credit control and reconciliations
Perform monthly bank reconciliations for corporate entities
Support the wider Finance team with project work and initiatives as required
Provide support and Value for Money activities and benchmarking costs
Respond to ad hoc requests. Source data and provide additional financial analysis when the business requires

Your experience
Experience within purchase ledger/accounting environment
Experience of SUN systems an advantage
Highly motivated with excellent organisations/ planning skills
Excellent communication skills both written and oral 
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
